Building and leading the Kaleidico team will always be one of the greatest experiences of my career. After 6 years I’m not only proud of the great wins, but the chances we took and all that was learned from the losses we endured.
Here’s something hopefully refreshing for you, my time as Creative Director, and eventually, Chief Strategy Officer and President of Kaleidico was not an unblemished string of victories.
This is not your typical case study.
I’m, of course, eager to relay that during my tenure we built blogs that attracted more than 100,000 monthly visitors, helped launch startups, generated tens of thousands of leads, millions of dollars in revenue, and even helped take one client to acquisition by Bankrate.
However, I’m equally eager to share what I learned from the folly of trying to build and sustain an internal video production department, the challenge of generating our own leads, and mistakes that lost clients. It may sound crazy, but I’m particularly excited about sharing what I learned from the time I had to layoff more than half our staff and essentially start over.
